Joan Bow-Belgrave Music from the heart
Joan Belgrave Biography

Joan Bow-Belgrave singingVocalist, producer, songwriter, Joan, began her musical career like so many others, singing inthe choir of the Baptist church. Her musical education continued while studying classical voice. Her versatility as a musical stylist has allowed her to perform as a vocalist in various genres of music from Jazz, Blues, and Gospel to Soul. A powerful voice and her own jazzy/blues style, her 2005 release CD “Variations” embodies all of this and more. Her CD Grammy nominated jazz project, “Excitable”- (2009) brings together a young New Orleans virtuoso pianist with veteran players, mixing the old with the new, with music that “jumps off the paper”.  Her latest hit single "Hey Love" (2013), shows her sultry/romantic style, and composition skills.   The CD “You Don’t Know Me” (2006) - Marcus Belgrave’s tribute to New Orleans, Ray Charles and the Great Ladies of Song , as well as “Marcus Charlie & Joan.. Once Again” (2009) are hit collaborations with Jazz Masters Marcus Belgrave & New Orleans Saxophonist, Charlie Gabriel, with new arrangements that will keep you wanting more!! Joan both a strong soloist as well as an eager ensemble member.  She is a Lead vocalist with the Motown Legends Gospel Choir and a touring Lead Vocalist with Marcus Belgrave’s Louis Armstrong, & Ray Charles Tribute Jazz Ensembles.
